1,400 homes hit by Salford power cut

Large swathes of the Trinity area of Salford near Manchester city centre have been hit by a power cut.

Up to 1,400 homes are affected in the Chapel Street area.

Electricity North West say the estimated time of repair is 11pm tonight, Monday 12 October, and the problem is down to a high voltage fault caused by damaged equipment.

It not thought there is any link with the CWS building fire which broke out in Manchester city centre tonight.
