A suspected fire at Canon Hussey Court in Salford this morning turned out to be a false alarm.
Three fire crews from Salford Central were called to the high-rise block of flats on Islington Way at 1.55am this morning, Tuesday 20 October, after residents reported smelling smoke.
One engine was turned back to the station as firefighters went door to door looking for the source of the suspected blaze.
The call was logged as a false alarm “with good intent” by Greater Manchester Fire.
