Eccles nursery’s teddy bear tea party for St Ann’s Hospice

Children and staff wore pyjamas and brought along teddy bears for a tea party at Ladybird Private Day Nursery at Springfield House, New Lane, Eccles.

A fancy dress day a week earlier at the sister nursery at nearby Folly Brook House on Parrin Lane in Winton was also a colourful occasion with both events raising £134 for St Ann’s Hospice.

Ladybird had also raised £338 from earlier fun days as part of their commitment to the hospice, which is its chosen charity of the year.

Nursery owner Lynn Blay said: “Everyone joined in the fun and we’d like to thank all those who made donations, including parents and staff.

“St Ann’s does a wonderful job providing much-needed care at a critical time in people’s live and we’ll be delighted to host future fundraising events for such a deserving cause. It’s good that the community can rally round to support this much-loved charity.”
