Pictured: Filming starts in Salford for Strangeways Here We Come

SalfordOnline.com is being inundated with pictures straight from the latest film set on Salford precinct.

Crowds have gathered around Citrus Way off Broadwalk as principal shooting starts on Strangeways Here We Come, Eastenders and Shameless actor Stephen Lord’s first film for Collateral Productions.

Written by 45-year-old Chris Green, the gritty comedy stars Michelle Keegan as the victim of a local loan shark who is terrorising his estate.

Most of the action takes place in and around the high-rise blocks near Magnolia Court.

Salfordians Chris and Stephen last teamed up for 2011’s dark thriller Desperate Measures.

Lord plays violent Danny Nolan, whose time as local kingpin comes to a close when his victims team up to get revenge.

The crew has set up in a community room at Holm Court, near St Paul’s Church, with photography due to take two weeks
