Police: Lock your doors after carjackers attack girl, 18, in Aldi car park

Police have issued a new appeal for witnesses two weeks after a woman was attacked, robbed and dragged from a car by two men in Salford.

SalfordOnline.com broke the news of the shocking ordeal, which happened on Thursday 3 December near Aldi Irlams o’th Height.

At around 4.40pm that day, a mum and her 18-year-old daughter had pulled up in the Aldi car park on Bolton Road.

The woman went into the shop whilst her daughter waited in the car, when two men approached the new-style black Vauxhall Corsa.

One stood in front of the vehicle to stop her driving away while another shouted at her to ‘Get out of the car’.

The first man is described as white, of skinny build, in his late teens/early twenties, clean shaven and was wearing a dark snood.

The second man is described as white, in his mid-late 40s, of average build, with a bad complexion.

Detective Constable James Harris of Salford division said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for a young woman to go through and she was left feeling scared and shaken.

“I appeal to anyone who saw the men or knows who they are to get in touch with police immediately. I would also remind people to be vigilant and lock their car doors.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 5351 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
