38-year-old man arrested on suspicion of shoplifting


A 38-year-old man from Pendlebury has been arrested on suspicion of three counts of shoplifting, police report.

Officers called for the public to share Wayne Bevan’s picture last week, saying he frequented Salford and Swinton shopping precincts.

He is suspected of stealing goods worth over £200 and was also wanted for failing to attend Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court for a further shoplifting offence.

Bevan, who is well known to police, has today been taking into custody pending further enquiries.
