CCTV pic of Audi linked to shooting of mum Jayne and 7-year-old son Christian Hickey in Winton


Police investigating the horrific doorstep shooting of Jayne Hickey and her seven-year-old son Christian in Winton have released pictures of a black Audi seen in the area at the time.

The CCTV comes after painstaking investigation into the brutal October attack, first reported on SalfordOnline.com.

Jayne answered the door and briefly spoke to two men before one of them fired several shots.

The youngster was hit once in his left leg and Jayne was struck twice in her legs.

A black Audi S3 was seen at 8.35pm on Monday 12 October 2015 on Dover Street in Winton, Eccles and left a few minutes later.

It returned to Dover Street at 9.20pm just prior to the shooting, which happened on Gillingham Road five minutes later, at 9.25pm.

Shortly afterwards, the suspected offenders made off in the Audi from Dover Street and travelled at speed along Worsley Road.

The attack made national headlines, with Greater Manchester Police calling the horrific shooting “a turning point” for the community coming forward to stop organised crime.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Parker said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have seen this vehicle around the time of the incident.

“It is believed the Audi drove at high speed close to a motorcyclist on Worsley Road causing him to pull over.

“If this was you, or you remember seeing a black Audi S3 parked up on Dover Street or travelling at speed on Worsley Road, please get in touch with police.”

DCI Parker continued: “We are also trying to trace the occupants of a small dark coloured hatchback saloon that had a broad stripe running diagonally from the front door over the wheel arches.

“The Audi was seen to pass this vehicle at speed on Worsley Road after the shooting.

“Any information received will be treated in strictest confidence.”

The first offender is described as white, between 19 and 20 years old, of ‘chunky’ build and wearing a baseball cap.

He spoke slowly and with a Salford accent.

The second man is described as white and was also wearing a baseball cap.
