Extreme triathlete Sean Conway runs a mile with fans at Buile Hill Park in Salford

Extreme endurance adventurer Sean Conway ran to meet his fans in Salford on Saturday 18 April as he aims to conquer the Ultimate British Triathlon, for a special documentary to be screened by Discovery Channel in June.

In his bid to become the first person to complete the feat, having already swum and cycled the 1,000 mile route from John O’Groats to Land’s End, he is now well over 500 miles into the final instalment of the challenge.

He met the public at Buile Hill Park where he ran a one mile route with them before conducting a Q&A about his experiences so far, whilst signing autographs and copies of his recently released book.

Several runners taking part in the Manchester Marathon quizzed him about how to best deal with endurance running and others about his epic swim for which he grew his trademark ginger beard.

Discovery Channel is following Sean every step of the way and thousands of avid followers of the ginger bearded eccentric have been tracking his journey by visiting www.discoveryuk.com and using #runwithsean.
