Armed robbers hit Tesco Express in Salford


Police are appealing for witnesses after three robbers threatened staff with knives at a Tesco Express in Salford.

The men, two carrying knives, targeted the store on Trafford Road shortly after 6pm on Friday 5 February 2016.

One of the men restrained the security guard whilst the other two forced staff to open the till. They stole cash and cigarettes before fleeing. No-one was injured during the robbery.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery and has been bailed until 4 April 2016.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information.

The men are described as white and were wearing face coverings.  

Detective Sergeant Wendy Grace of Salford division said: “These men targeted the store and staff were faced with men brandishing knives. Fortunately no-one was hurt but this was a terrifying experience for those involved.
