Double crash at Height roundabout causing delays

Police are diverting traffic away from an accident at a roundabout in Irlams o’th Height.

Emergency services were called at 2.50pm to the A6 Broad Street on the roundabout approach, heading into Salford away from the Liverpool direction.

Police found a blue BMW 520 series had crashed into a roadside barrier.

No other vehicles are thought to have been involved.

The driver of the BMW is being treated by ambulance crews at the scene.

His injuries are not thought to be serious.

No road closures are in place, but traffic is backing up around the incident and police are advising motorists where possible to find alternative routes.

A second accident at around 3.30pm occurred just beyond the slip road to the A580 carriageway.

Drivers are queuing out of Salford.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call Greater Manchester Police on 101.
