Motorcyclist has lucky escape on Patricroft bridge

A motorcyclist had a lucky escape last night after colliding with a car on Patricroft bridge.

At 6.20pm on Thursday 18 February emergency services raced to Patricroft bridge on Liverpool Road following reports of a collision between a car and motorcyclist.

On arrival they found blue Yamaha had collided with a silver Ford Focus.

It is believed the motorcyclist was clipped and came off his bike.

There was petrol and oil spillage on the road, and, as a result, a road closure was put in place between Liverpool Road and Barton Road, heading towards Eccles.

The female driver  of the Ford Focus was unhurt and the motorcyclist suffered only minor injuries.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital for further treatment.

The petrol and oil spillage was cleared up and the road was re-opened.
