Easter Eggstravaganza in March


From Easter egg hunting and quacktastic duck racing to spooky ghost nights at Ordsall Hall and family shows at The Lowry, Salford has plenty to offer this month as Spring is almost upon us.

Why not immerse the family in a world of chocolate and imagination this Easter, or spoil your mum this Mothers Day for afternoon tea at On the 7 March.

Ordsall Hall is also presenting a live half hour performance from Opera North, as well as Easter Egg Hunts and more this month.

Exhibition: To End All Wars

Wednesdays to Fridays, 1pm to 5pm and the first Saturday of the month, 10am to 4pm, Free

This exhibition marks the centenary of the introduction of conscription in early 1916. It looks at some of those involved, both men and women, who fought for peace.

A specially-written ‘Living History’ performance, No Power on Earth, will accompany the exhibition. Based on the true story of Salford man, James Hudson, this monologue tells the story of an ordinary school teacher at the start of the First World War who finds himself at odds with the popular mood.

The 30-minute free performance can be seen at the Library on Wednesday 2 March at 1pm and Saturday 5 March at 12.30pm

Helly Hansen Watersports Centre

Helly Hansen Water Sports Centre have an impressive 8 metre high indoor climbing wall.

Taking part in a climbing session offers some fantastic benefits for adults and young people, including improving confidence, self esteem and hand-eye coordination. Climbing also develops problem solving and team building skills, whilst helping to overcome fears and achieve goals.

Sport Relief 2016 – Battle of the Five-A-Sides

Five-a-side stadium at MediaCityUK

Footballing legends Alan Shearer and Robbie Savage are going head-to-head once again as part of the epic BBC Radio 5 live ‘Battle of the Five-A-Sides’ for Sport Relief 2016. Supported by the Premier League, the three day five-a-side football frenzy will see Alan and Robbie return to the pitch to play as well as manage a squad of players. Over 1,000 people will take part to play a combined total of 57 hours of continuous football.

MAPAS Choral & Vocal Festival

Back by popular demand, the MAPAS Choral and Vocal festival is an opportunity to celebrate the fantastic vocal talent that Salford has to offer, and is inviting anyone who loves to sing to come along and showcase their talent.

Ghost night with Paranormal Eye UK

For those interested in the Paranormal, Ordsall hall is open to a night for you to uncover the secrets and discover the sinister history that lies between the famous walls dating back to as far as the 15 Century.

Aperture: Media Art Exhibition

The Witches – Roald Dahl
