Swinton plumber’s plea to return stolen livelihood

A plumber from Swinton who was robbed of his van and work tools has pleaded for their return.

Sometime between 3am and 6am on Monday morning thieves broke into Paul Roche’s house on Beatrice Street in Swinton, taking the keys to his van along with cash and high-value tools.

It’s thought they broke in through his back door, swiped his keys, locked Paul inside the house and left in the van.

Among the work tools taken were Dewalt drills, a Mikita chop saw and angle grinder, a petrol-powered Sthil saw along with general Hans tools.

Without them he is unable to work and is struggling to get by.

Self-employed Paul is well known in the local community for helping out those in need, for example donating his time in the wake of Salford’s Boxing Day floods, helping families hit by rising floodwaters to remove damaged goods from their homes to take to the tip.

The white Renault Trafic van has the registration plate ND52 ZPN

Anyone who sees the van for sale or spots any of the tools listed above is asked to call Greater Manchester Police on 101.
