Ten charged in suspected Salford and Wigan cocaine ring


Ten people from Salford and Tyldesley have been charged in suspected drug gang activity after police seized £200,000 in Class A drugs and £30,000 in cash.

In a series of dawn raids on Wednesday 9 March, tactical aid units and organised crime police raided 15 properties in Salford, Trafford, Wigan and Manchester.

Now three men from Salford have been charged, along with six from Tyldesley and one from Timperley.

Wayne Jones, 37, of Croft Bank in Lower Broughton, of Paul Cox, 36, of Old Mill Close in Pendlebury and Ernest Barrow of Holdsworth Street in Swinton are all charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

All three have been remanded in custody to appear at Manchester Crown Court on 7 April 2016.

Two others arrested on Wednesday have been bailed.

Five men from Tyldesley will also appear at Manchester Crown Court on 7 April charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs: 26-year-old Mark Smith of Lune Street, Jamie Grundy, 23, of Prospect Street, Jake Barratt, 26, of Wardley Road, Callum Green, 23, of Lever Street and Daniel Smith, 22, of Linton Road.

Greater Manchester Police said its detectives had identified evidence of a criminal network involved in drugs supply and money laundering.

Brendan Robertson, 41, of Redbrook Road, Timperley, was also charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and has been remanded into custody to appear at Manchester Crown Court Crown Square on 7 April 2016.

Stacey Bradley, 37 of Wardley Road, Tyldesley, was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and was bailed to appear at Manchester Crown Court, Crown Square court on 10 March 2016.
