Police closed the outside lane of the M60 clockwise near Eccles, heading north, after a lorry and a car collided at around 7.55am this morning.
Traffic is still congested and moving slowly around the accident scene, between Junction 11 for Eccles/Irlam and Junction 12 for the M62/M602 interchange.
Neither driver was reported injured but delays are ongoing into the final part of today’s rush-hour.
Commuters are being warned to expect hold-ups of around 10 to 15 minutes extra this morning.
