Italian restaurant Vero Moderno to open at Vimto Gardens

Salford restauranteur Giuseppe Piccoli is to open an Italian restaurant on Chapel Street at the Vimto Gardens development.

Piccoli, who lives on Chapel Street himself, will open Vero Moderno, an independent modern Italian, on the ground floor of the Salford development.

It’s the first commercial lease for the 96-flat complex.

Vero Moderno takes 1,625 sq ft of space and is promising both an eat-in and takeaway service for authentic Italian-style pizza.

Giuseppe said: “Being a resident of Chapel Street, I’ve witnessed first-hand the incredible makeover it has had in recent years and I’m certain the regeneration will continue to attract many people to the area.

“This is my first business venture – the help and support I’ve received from ECf has been fantastic.

“After considering a few options, I chose to open my first venture on Chapel Street as it’s an exciting part of the city with a vast customer base.

Phil Mayall, development director at English Cities Fund (ECf), said: “This lease signing marks an exciting phase for the wider Salford Central development.

“Having a restaurant on-site will not only benefit the residents living in the 96 apartments and townhouses, but also the wider community.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming more businesses to Chapel Street and further enhancing the regeneration of Salford.”
