Jag dumped in Little Hulton after hitting mum and child, 3

A mother and her three-year-old child had to be taken Salford Royal hospital after being hit by by a car in Little Hulton.

Their condition is not known at this stage but it is understood their injuries were not life-threatening.

A blue Jaguar S-Type, believed to be stolen, failed to stop at the scene.

North West Ambulance sent emergency crews to Manchester Road West at 4.15pm on Thursday 17 March.

Police arrived shortly after.

After clipping the mother and child the Jaguar went on to crash into a parked blue BMW before coming to rest in the middle of the road.

A number of people in the car abandoned the vehicle on nearby Peel Park Crescent before escaping on foot into Peel Park.

One local resident described their shock at seeing the car abandoned in the street.

She said: “I arrived home a couple of minutes after it happened, the engine was still running and the emergency services hadn’t got there yet.

“After he ran into the mum he sped off and hit the parked car, which buckled the wheel.

“He carried on down the street until it stopped.

“The little one was whisked off straight away when the ambulance came.”

A spokesperson at North West Ambulance said that because it was a police incident they were unable to comment further.

Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for comment.
