Two Little Hulton men charged after violent machete robberies


Two local men have been charged following two violent robberies in Bury.

Macaulay Heald, 26, of Ridyard Street, Little Hulton, has been charged with robbery.

Ashton Holland, 20, of Barry Crescent, Little Hulton, has been charged with robbery.

Ziggy Cawley, 23, of Rollesby Close, Bury has been charged with Robbery and Aggravated Burglary.

All three have been remanded into custody and will next appear at Bolton Crown Court on 16 May 2016.

The first incident happened at 3.05am Sunday 17 April 2016, where offenders kicked open the front door of a house on Canterbury Drive in Bury.

They went upstairs wielding a machete and punched the occupier of the house, a 25-year-old man, before hitting him on the arm with the blunt machete. They demanded cash and his mobile phone before leaving. The man suffered a broken arm.

The second happened at 7.40am on Sunday 17 April 2016 on Bury and Bolton Road in Radcliffe where a group of men are reported to have forced their way into a house.

They demanded the car keys before repeatedly attacking the 70-year-old man living there with a machete which caused deep tissue damage and a broken arm. They stole two cars from the driveway.
