Salford hit and run: Man seriously hurt as grey Renault Megane speeds off


Police are looking for a grey Renault Megane which raced off from a hit and run in Salford.

A pedestrian, understood to be 52 years old, was hit by a car on Littleton Road in Salford at 5.50pm this evening, Saturday 30 April.

The man was gravely injured.

Traffic officers closed Littleton Road near the Racecourse Hotel, while the Serious Collision Investigation Unit made their way to the scene.

It’s understood the road will be closed into Saturday evening while police continue their investigation.

As of 7.30pm, pedestrians are not currently being allowed to pass through and traffic, including buses are being turned around.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “We were called to the scene shortly before 6pm this evening.

“A Renault Megane in grey and a male pedestrian were involved.

“His injuries are described as serious.

“We do not currently have any further information on the Megane such as a numberplate but we are still investigating.”
