George’s Worsley hosts glitzy bash to launch summer menu

The tastes of summer were blossoming – as were some of the stunning guests – as popular Worsley restaurant George’s launched its new menu for Summer 2016.

At a party humming with celebrities from stage and screen the new range of dishes got top billing, while expert bartenders mixed a series of stunning gin cocktails to encompass what summer is all about.

Co-owned by Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs, along with local businesssmen Kelvin Gregory and Bernie Taylor, the eaterie has garnered an enviable reputation for quality dishes served up with imagination.

Some of the tantalising new recipes being cooked up in the kitchens include zingy Padron peppers that melt in the mouth, stunning Salmon roulade, tempura halloumi Dragon Roll sushi and earthily sweet beetroot and goat’s cheese macaroons.

Following the summer theme the creative chefs behind the menu unveiled a series of imaginative concoctions, including English Garden dressed with buttercups, Gin and Elderflower Smash, Mint Fizz and a Gin Swizzle with a zesty kick – all of which warmed up an already pleasantly toasty evening in May.

Since opening in 2013 the restaurant has gone from strength to strength.

The addition of al fresco dining on their open terrace is a bonus as it catches the sun perfectly.

It’s a place where you could sit and watch the sunset with a glass of wine and almost imagine you were on the continent.

The George’s experience is a must for those who want to dine out with a difference.

From Brunch to Sunday lunch or even for those special occasions, George’s has a welcoming approach to all its visitors.

Don’t be surprised if you bump into someone famous, as a string of celebrities regularly visit to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and delicious food on offer.

It was hard to move for celebrities at the launch party, who encompassed Coronation Street stars, music and film producers and Premier League footballers.

As the drinks and food flowed the party moved from the elegant terrace down to the warmth of the cosy restaurant with music to dance the night away.

This reviewer – no longer a spring chicken – slipped away a little tipsy from the delightful new cocktail range and elated by the food.
