Top 5 things to do in Salford this weekend


The weekend is upon us and we have the added bonus of a Bank Holiday Monday to enjoy, so here is our suggestions for things to do this weekend in Salford.

Salford Red Devils – Friday 27 May – 8pm kick off

Salford Red Devils will take on Wakefield Wildcats tonight at the AJ Bell Stadium in what promises to be a classic of a match as they both battle it out for the points, get down and cheer them to victory.

Saturday Playhouse – Saturday 28 May – 11am – 12:30pm

Lookout its Saturday Playhouse is now a free and weekly art activity for children and their families in a dedicated Lookout space for families at The Lowry Center, Salford.

Each week they Lookout for what we can see both inside and outside, taking inspiration from our theatres, galleries and surrounding landscape at Salford Quays and MediaCityUK.

Charity Bollywood Ball – Saturday 28 May – 7.30pm -11.30pm

A great night out is promised at Eccles Liberal Club as a Bollywood Ball swings into action, live dancing from the Desisisters, DJ, buffet and bar.

Charity Football Match – Sunday 29 May – 12pm – Late

Call in at AFC Monton’s ground on New Alder Park for a charity football amtch in aid of Dravets Syndrome, a family day out with face painting, BBQ, refreshments and all the fun of the fair.

My Life Through My Lens – Sunday 29 May – 12pm – 4pm

A must see is the stunning photographic exhibition on at Salford Museum and Art Gallery by Graham Nash, evocative images of family, famous friends and harrowing self portraits, well worth a visit.
