Woman rescued from Boothstown bedroom fire

Firefighters spent two hours battling a blaze in the bedroom of a semi-detached house in Boothstown.

Three fire crews from Stretford, Farnworth and Agecroft were dispatched to Wyre Drive at 7.40pm on Thursday 26 May.

When they arrived they found the first floor bedroom of a semi-detached house well alight.

Four firefighters in breathing appartus made their way into the property.

The occupants were all out of the house by the time fire crews arrived.

Fire technicians gave one woman oxygen therapy at the scene before leaving her in the care of paramedics.

They used hose reels to douse the flames before ventilating heavy smoke from the house with a high-pressure fan.

The woman declined hospital treatment.
