Boothstown Elvis bash raises thousands in memory of Nurse Pat

An Elvis night in memory of his late wife Pat to raise funds for St Ann’s Hospice was sweet music to the ears of Roy Daly.

The sell-out show at Boothstown Royal British Legion raised £2,425 in honour of nurse Pat, who passed away two years ago from cancer at the age of 69.

Family and friends of the Boothstown couple were out in force to support the event organised by steward Kenny Bailey and wife Jan.

Pat, who worked as an auxiliary nurse at Ladywell Hospital in Salford, was an inpatient at St Ann’s.

Roy, 74, said: “That is one fine hospice.

“The nurses and staff were brilliant and so dedicated and could not have done enough. I’ll always be thankful for their care and compassion towards Pat and our family.

“I’m a big fan of Elvis and we had a great evening. It was very kind of Kenny and Jan to organise the event and I’d like to thank everyone for their support and donations.”

Daughter Lisa has set up a tribute page which has raised more than £1,568. To donate go to patricia.daly.muchloved.com
