Nominations for Salford Royal’s Patient’s Star Award are now open

Patients, families and carers are invited to put forward an individual or team from Salford Royal for the award.

Nominations will be shortlisted by judges who are looking for evidence of staff demonstrating safe, clean and personal care, putting the patient first and treating them with dignity, kindness and compassion. The winner of the Patient’s Star category will be voted for by the public.

Last year’s winner was surgeon Mr Jonathan Epstein and the specialist colorectal nurses. The team were nominated by a patient who said he received 100% care and attention throughout his treatment at Salford Royal.

The patient’s family said they were made to feel special and more than just another one of the hundreds of patients and relatives seen by this service each year. They said the care, communication and treatment received was consistent throughout.

Did a member of the Salford Royal team go that extra mile for you or your relative? Do you want to put a member of staff under the spotlight as a ‘thank you’ for everything they have done?

Well now is your chance. Nominating someone is easy. All you have to do it know their name, where at Salford Royal they work and be willing to provide some details about why they deserve to win the award.

If you’ve got a Salford Royal star in mind, you can nominate via our website at www.srft.nhs.uk or by picking up a nomination form by calling 0161 206 8946 or emailing communications@srft.nhs.uk.

The deadline for nominating is midnight on Sunday 24 July, 2016.
