Eccles meeting tonight on what Brexit means for EU citizens

A meeting in Eccles tonight, Thursday 7 July, will lay out local people’s concerns over the outcome of June’s EU Referendum.

Many of those who were born overseas but are now working in Salford and Eccles have raised worries about what it means for their future after the UK voted to leave the EU three weeks ago.

Local councillors have organised the meeting at the Link Project Centre, at the corner of Bright Road and Chadwick Road, tonight from 7pm.

Councillor Peter Wheeler told SalfordOnline.com: “The result of the referendum last month has left many EU citizens living locally very concerned about how it will affect them.

For that reason local councillors in Eccles have organised a meeting at the Link Project Centre, Chadwick Road, Eccles M30 0WP (junction with Bright Road), Thursday July 7th at 7pm.

“At the moment nothing changes.

“Britain remains a member of the EU and until we actually leave then people’s rights to work and live here remain the same as before the referendum.

“Understandably many people are concerned about what this vote means for them so we have organised this meeting for people to air their concerns and hopefully we can provide some answers.”
