Wheels for All open day at Cleavley sports pitch, Winton


Tomorrow, Saturday 23, July will see a charity fun day at Cleavley sports pitch in Winton hosted by Wheels for All and Salford Action Against Autism.

Wheels for All was set up 25 years ago in Agecroft, Salford and has been at Cleavely track for the past 15 years.

The aim of Wheels for All is to provide inclusive cycling for people of all ages and abilities with over 200 specially adapted cycles to suit everybody.

SalfordOnline.com spoke to team leader, Scott Sinclair who told us more about the group.

“We are to help people learn to ride a bicycle with confidence, we have people of all ages visiting us as they know they are in safe hands with staff members on site to choose the right bike for that person.

“The bikes that we have include, double handcycles, trikes with back support, side by side tandem bikes, low access trikes, basically everything apart from a unicycle.

“The popularity of Wheels for All is spreading hugely, in 2014 we had 3,000 visitors and last year we had 5, 000 visitors all eager to learn about the service that we provide”

The centre is open Wednesdays, 10am – 6pm, Fridays, 10am -3pm, and Saturdays, 10pm – 1pm.

The event starts at 10am and runs until 3pm and  will includes cakes, refreshments, face painting, raffle, stalls from Veterans Alliance Group, Salford Action Against Autism and Transport for Greater Manchester.
