Man taken to hospital after kitchen fire in Salford


Firecrews from Agecroft and Manchester Central were called to Stanley Road, Salford at 5.52pm yesterday, Monday, 25 July after receiving reports of a kitchen fire.

A quantity of food had been left in a microwave oven which had caught alight.

A member of the firecrew gave a male resident of the house, oxygen therapy as the result of smoke inhalation.

He was taken to Salford Royal Hospital for further treatment, where his condition is described as being satisfactory.

The firecrews stayed for 90 minutes to ensure that the house was safe to enter.
