E-fit released in connection with Blackley robbery


Police have issued an e-fit of a man they want to speak to in connection with a robbery in Blackley, North Manchester.

At around 10.30am on Wednesday 6 July 2016, a courier driver returned to his vehicle on Victoria Avenue East when a man opened the van door and put a knife to his stomach, shouting at him to get out of the van.

Once the courier driver had got out of the van, the man got into the driving seat and drove the van away from the scene toward Newcliffe Road.

Officers attended the scene and found the van on a nearby housing estate. A large quantity of parcels had been stolen from the van.

Police have issued an e-fit of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

The van is described as a white Ford Transit van.

Detective Constable Jamie Heaton of GMP’s City of Manchester Team, said: “I’m appealing to anyone who may know this man to get in touch with us as soon as possible.

“I’m hoping that by releasing this e-fit it will encourage people to get in touch with information about this man that could help our investigation.”
