Watch: Police release CCTV footage of man brutally assaulted in the city centre

Sometime between 2.30am and 3.30am on Saturday 29 June 2016 a man was outside the Press Club, Queen Street, when he was approached by another man.

The man was then punched once in the head, knocking him to the ground where he falls into a motorbike, and stamped on. The attacker then fled the scene.

Police have now released CCTV footage of the incident in a bid to identify a man they want to speak to in connection with the assault.

PC Michael Baylay, of GMP’s City of Manchester team, said: “This was a brutal attack on a man enjoying a night out and it is fortunate that he was not very seriously injured.

“It happened outside a popular venue in the city centre when people would have been around and seen something.

“We are particularly keen to speak to anybody who was outside the club at the time who may be able to help us identify this man.

“We would urge anybody who recognises the man in the CCTV or knows anything else that could help our investigation to come forward.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
