Grosvenor Casino Salford raises its fundraising stakes with Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge

The fundraising achievements of Grosvenor Casino Salford reached new heights on 7th September after a team from the casino took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Carers Trust, helping to raise an overall total of £5,600.

Team members from the casino, located in Salford, joined a group of 71 other employees from eight Grosvenor Casinos located nationwide on 7th September to battle the elements and show the Three Peaks what they’re made of.

The event was organised by Grosvenor Casinos to raise essential funds for Carers Trust, a charity which supports unpaid carers who dedicate their lives to caring for friends or family members who would struggle to cope without their help.

Carl Wetherill, General Manager at Grosvenor Casino Salford, comments: “It was really tough going but we all feel such a fantastic sense of achievement knowing the funds we’ve raised will go to such an incredibly worthwhile cause. Throughout the challenge, we all worked together to support each other as a team, something that we know is at the heart of the work undertaken by both the charity, and the carers that we’re raising money for, which made the whole experience all the more special. Thank you to every single person who took part, whether through donations or completing the challenge with us on the day, without your support and motivation, such an achievement just wouldn’t have been possible.”

Sarah Walsh, Senior Fundraising Manager for Carers Trust comments: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to employees at Grosvenor Casinos in the North East for taking part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks in aid of Carers Trust. This is a phenomenal achievement and another example of the fantastic support we have received from Rank Group plc. The money raised means that we can provide even more life-changing support to the UK’s unpaid carers.

“Thanks to dedicated employees at Grosvenor Casino and Mecca Bingo clubs across the country, more than 3,000 carers have now benefited from grants to support respite breaks and essential items that they would have otherwise been unable to afford. These grants make the challenge of being an unpaid carer that little bit easier – helping to prevent people from breaking down under the strain and to find new ways of coping.”

All Grosvenor Casinos across the UK regularly take part in a selection of fun and exciting fundraising activities ranging from raffles, lucky dips and karaoke to a variety of competitions and other interactive events. Since the launch of the charity partnership, Grosvenor Casinos has helped the charity to raise over £1m, with funds being distributed directly to carers in need, all over the UK.
