Boy, 16, stabbed in the buttock in Salford


A teenage boy was stabbed in broad daylight on a Salford street this afternoon.

He was treated for wounds to his buttock and remains in a stable condition in hospital, say police.

Officers have a crime scene taped off near the junction of Bury New Road and Broughton Lane in Lower Broughton.

SalfordOnline.com readers reported their children seeing police on Bury New Road after school on Tuesday 13 September.

The news comes after reports of large groups of boys clashing in Irlams o’th Height yesterday evening.

In a statement Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 3pm on Tuesday 13 September 2016 police were called to Bury New Road in Lower Broughton to a report of a stabbing.

“Officers attended and discovered a 16-year-old boy with stab wounds to his buttock.

“He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.”
