No arrests in connection with boy stabbed in buttocks

At around 3pm on Tuesday 13 September a teenage boy was stabbed in broad daylight on a busy Salford street.

The 16-year-old boy was found by officers at the scene with multiple stab wounds to his buttocks.

The stabbing took place on one of Lower Broughton’s busiest streets, Bury New Road, where dozens of young people were passing as they left school for the day.

Due to the high number of people around the area at the time, police are certain that some may have witnessed the stabbing.

Police continue to appeal for witnesses.

No arrests have been made in connection with the stabbing and police have given no indication of the circumstances which surround the stabbing.

So far, it is not known what weapon was used in the attack.

However, due to the nature of the wound, it is likely to have been a knife blade.

The news comes after reports of large groups of boys clashing in Irlams o’th Height yesterday evening.

In a statement Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 3pm on Tuesday 13 September 2016 police were called to Bury New Road in Lower Broughton to a report of a stabbing.

“Officers attended and discovered a 16-year-old boy with stab wounds to his buttock.

“He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.”
