Winton housing site manager wins national award

Simon Ward, from Clifton in Salford, is the proud recipient of a National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job award.

A site manager with Bellway Homes for more than three years, Simon receives the award for his work at Bellway’s Bridgewater Village development off Worsley Road in Winton.

Ward was thrilled with the award after 11 years in the construction industry.

He started as a trainee assistant site manager the age of 19, before progressing to assistant site manager, site manager and finally senior site manager.

He said: “This is my first Pride in the Job award as the manager of my own site and I’m incredibly proud to receive it for the great work that has been done at Bridgewater Village.

“The award is just not just about me though, it is testimony to the hard work of the whole team on site and our collective commitment to delivering a superior quality product for purchasers.”

Pride in the Job is dedicated to recognising the industry’s best performers.

The prestigious accolade is only presented to those who can demonstrate exceptional standards across all areas of build on site.

Judges look for meticulous and consistent attention to detail and winners must score highly in all areas of the build process including quality of workmanship, technical expertise, health and safety, management and leadership.

Sales director at Bellway Homes, Louise Chamberlain, commented: “Simon is a very deserving recipient of the Pride in the Job award and we are delighted for him. He works very well as part of a team and is extremely customer-focused.

“He has worked exceptionally hard at Bridgewater Village, maintaining high standards across all areas on site and ensuring properties are delivered on schedule for our purchasers. His commitment and expertise clearly impressed the NHBC.”
