Discount toy store ToyTown to open at Lowry Outlet Salford

One of the largest independent toy retailers in the UK has opened a new outlet store at the Lowry Outlet shopping mall.

Toytown have taken a lease on a 2,631 sq ft space at the Salford Quays centre.

Belfast-headquartered Toytown was founded in 1980 and now has 23 locations across the UK, selling Lego, Hasbro, Playmobil, Disney and Marvel-branded toys.

Since summer 2015 Peel have added Next and Bench outlets to their 80+ store and restaurant offering.

Kelly Hurst, centre manager for Lowry Outlet, said: “We’re thrilled to have opened Toytown at Lowry Outlet. It’s a well-recognised retailer, stocking a huge selection of brands for all ages.”

The shopping complex owners Peel Land and Property came under fire in September – after ending free parking in April – with a plan to rebrand the Salford store as ‘Lifestyle Outlet Manchester’.
