Top 5 things to do in Salford this weekend


We have a bumper selection of attractions for you this weekend in Salford for you and all your family to enjoy.

BreastFest Charity Football Match – Saturday 11 July – 10am-11pm

A full day of fun at De La Salle playing fields, Lancaster Road this Saturday the day will see live music with over 30 bands playing on three stages, a funfair, carboot, market stalls, refreshments, licenced bar and more to be announced. And a grand charity football match between TV celebs and local lads to raise money for the One Stop Breast Clinic at Salford Royal Hospital.

Admission is £3 on door.

Islington Festival – Saturday 11 July – 11am -11pm

St Philips Primary School on Barrow Street at 2pm, followed by the school summer fair where visitors can look forward to an array of stalls, flower arranging and a drum workshop. Then at various locations around Islington.

Jelly Wanging – Sunday 12 July – 12pm – 4pm

Ordsall will be holding a garden party with loads of attractions for all the family but the highlight is surely the Jelly Wanging Competition, bring your own jelly though.

Costa Del Walkden Festival – Sunday 12 July – 11am – 8pm

Lots of fun to be had at the Costa Del Walkden Festival which is being held at Parfold Park in Walkden including funfair, refreshments, stalls, and lots more.

St Luke’s Church Weaste – Sunday 12 July – 3pm -5pm

Visit the beautiful St Luke’s Church on Liverpool Street as they celebrate their 150 years of worship, this church can boast of being the venue where Emmeline Pankhurst got married.

Salford red Devils – Sunday 12 July – 3pm kick off

Can the Reds regain their composure and get back on a winning streak? call in at the AJ Bell Stadium to find out, plus the earlier match betwwen the Para and the Marines which kicks off at 12.45pm free admission to this match for all serving and ex-armed forces personnel
