Man suffers severe leg injuries in Broughton hit and run


A man has been injured after being mown down by a car in Salford this morning.

The 23-year-old was knocked down by a white Vauxhall Corsa on Great Cheetham Street West, near Broughton Fit City, at around 10.30am on Thursday 23 July.

In the Broughton hit and run the victim suffered severe leg lacerations and was bleedily heavily when paramedics arrived.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to Salford Royal hospital.

The suspect is described as being a heavily-built white male, around 6ft tall, wearing black and white trainers and grey shorts.

A section of Pentlands Avenue, off Great Cheetham Street West, has been cordoned off by police.

Officers say there are tyre marks and debris from the crash which is waiting to be taken away for crime scene analysis.
