A man has been found hanged from a footbridge in Salford.
Police were called to Gerald Road in Lower Broughton at around 6.20am this morning.
The man was already deceased when officers arrived at the scene.
Firefighters lowered the body from the bridge and the man was taken from the scene.
Gerald Road has been closed and the bridge cordoned off.
Police say there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.
The man’s next of kin have not yet been informed, said Greater Manchester Police.
An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing
