Cash stolen in Tyldesley

Cash was stolen from a security guard as he made a delivery.

Shortly after 3pm on Friday 24 July 2015, a security guard was making a cash delivery to Poundland in Tyldesley when he was approached by three men, one with an axe.

They demanded the cash box before the security guard turned to run from the shop. The three men, who were all wearing dark clothing and balaclavas, chased him. The security guard stumbled at which point the men grabbed the cash box from him.

They got into a grey coloured BMW and drove away through Tyldesley towards Little Hulton.

Detective Constable Lynsey Watson said: “While the victim was not injured he has been left shaken by the incident.

“There would’ve been quite a lot of people around at the time so I would ask if anyone was in the area and saw the three men or the BMW making off at speed that they get in contact with us.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
