96% of patients would recommend NWAS to friends or family

North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) has welcomed the success of their most recent Friends and Family Test (FFT) with 96% of patients being ‘extremely likely’ or ‘likely’ to recommend the Trust to a friend or a family member.

NWAS introduced the FFT in 2013 and it is published every quarter, allowing patients and employees to feed their comments about the service back to the Trust by using postal surveys, the NWAS website and freepost returnable postcards.

Data from the FFT, taken by dozens of patients and staff between April and June 2015, also shows 76% of employees said they would be likely to recommend the Trust to friend or family member as a place to work.

Sarah Faulkner, Director of Quality for NWAS said: “NWAS does all it can to ensure we remain a patient focused organisation and encourages patients, along with staff, to complete the FFT to let us know their views – it’s an excellent way for us to gauge what patients and staff think about the service.

“The FFT has been a very useful way of providing NWAS with immediate feedback on our services and allow us to react swiftly in improving our goal to deliver safer care closer to home.

“It’s great that our most recent FFT has provided such positive feedback and clearly shows we are improving in listening to patients and understanding what we need to do to improve services as a whole – thank you to all patients and staff who completed the test.”
