Boy, 11, told ‘get into the car’ in Irlam

An 11-year-old boy was approached by a driver in Irlam and told to “get into the car”.

The child, who was on his way to band practice, was walking down Liverpool Road, near the junction with Fairhills Road, at around 6.30pm on Monday 3 August.

A white man in a yellow Ford with an 03 numberplate slowed down and pulled alongside him, telling him to get inside.

The boy refused and fled down the street.

The driver is described as being in his early 20s, with short black hair and stubbly beard.

Local officers posted on Facebook: “The lad was sensible and reported the incident.

“If you were in the area around this time and can offer any further information please ring 101 and quote log 2219 of the 3/8/15.”
