Elderly woman hurt after being hit by motorbike in Peel Green, Eccles


An elderly woman is in hospital after being hit by a motorbike in Peel Green, Eccles.

It’s understood the woman was walking along Peel Green Road near Stelfox Street at around 5.10pm on Thursday 20 August when the incident happened.

Residents spoke of their upset at seeing the elderly woman lying in the road.

She is currently being treated in hospital for a head injury.

Traffic officers closed off Peel Green Road near the Unicorn pub.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Officers were called to Peel Green Road at 5.13pm today to reports of a collision between a motorbike and a pedestrian.

“The elderly woman’s injuries are not considered to be life-changing or life-threatening.”

Police forensics teams are still at the scene gathering evidence.

The motorbike rider was not arrested at the scene and police are treating this as an accident.
