Common items that businesses sometimes forget

I always charge VAT on all my sales, so am I forgetting anything?

Most people charge the correct amount of VAT on all their goods and services to customers. However, occasionally businesses might sell goods or services that are outside their usual trading activities. Make sure you consider all your sources of business income when filling in your VAT return.

Sometimes instead of taking payment for goods or services in money, businesses take goods and services in part exchange, or swap goods and services. If you do, remember to pay any VAT that is due.
