Teenager arrested after drugs bust in Winton

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drugs offences after a warrant was executed on a house in Winton, Eccles, this morning.

Officers carried out the dawn raid on Sutherland Street at 6.20am on Tuesday 25 August.

Police seized a quantity of what is suspected to be Class A and Class B drugs, along with cash and drugs paraphernalia.

The teenager was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug with intent to supply, supply of cannabis, and possessing criminal property.

He has been bailed to reappear before police on Monday 16 November.

In April shots were fired at the front door of a house on Sutherland Street in what police believed at the time may have been a case of mistaken identity.

At 7.50pm on Friday 3 April two men arrived at the house on a motorbike and one fired a shotgun towards the door before riding off. No one was inside the house at the time, and no one was hurt.

Police have not linked the two incidents.
