Teenage boys arrested after 16-year-old girl tasered in Little Hulton

A 16-year-old girl was hospitalised last night after being tasered by two teenage boys in Little Hulton, Salford.

The girl was walking along Ridyard Street at around 8.25pm on Sunday 13 September when she was approached by two boys on red BMX pedal bike.

They jumped off the bike and chased her down the street before tasering her in the right arm.

She momentarily lost consciousness and hit the ground.

The girl was taken to hospital for treatment.

It’s understood the weapon was a handheld stun gun-style taser, rather than a police-issue device.

The weapons are legally manufactured abroad but cannot be bought in the UK.

Possessing a stun gun carries a maximum jail sentence of 10 years

After a search of the area police arrested two boys age 15 and 16.

They were taken into police custody for questioning. No charges have yet been made.

Anyone with any information is urged to call Greater Manchester Police on 101.
