Van crash in Eccles causes rush hour delays


Two vehicles crashed in Eccles this morning, Tuesday 22 September, causing delays to rush hour traffic.

The crash occurred outside the West One shopping complex at the busy junction of Gilda Brook Road and Bentcliffe Way, heading towards Centenary Way.

Police arrived at the scene at 7.55am however it is believed that the collision happened at around 7.40am.

The collision occurred between a white Volkswagen van and a silver Vauxhall Astra, causing the white van to smash into a metal pedestrian barrier.

Traffic officers were forced to close two lanes of Gilda Brook Road, hindering rush hour traffic.

Both drivers were lucky to escape injury.
