Witness appeal after purse taken from toilets at Manchester Piccadilly

Do you recognise this woman?

British Transport Police officers believe she could have key information about a purse that was removed from the ladies toilets at Manchester Piccadilly station.

The incident occurred at around 1pm on Tuesday, 8 September.

Investigating officer PC Keiron Richardson said: “The victim had entered the ladies toilets at Manchester Piccadilly station and used the mirror closest to the door, which had a shelf underneath it. She then entered a cubicle, accidentally leaving her red purse on the shelf under the mirror.

“When she realised this and left the cubicle, the purse, which contained 500 pounds in cash, a bankcard and an item of sentimental value, had gone.”

Officers believe the woman pictured could be able to assist them with their enquiries and urge her or anyone who recognises her to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on, or text 61016, quoting reference PSUB/B4 of 25/09/2015. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
