Serious two-car crash on Worsley Road Swinton

Fire crews, paramedics and police were called to Worsley Road in Swinton this evening at around 5.40pm to a serious two-car crash.

One person was trapped in their car and crews are in the process of cutting the roof from the vehicle to safely extricate them.

Their injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

The scene is near the junction of Worsley Road with the A580 East Lancs Road.

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Fire said: “We have two fire engines and a technical response unit at the scene and our crews are assisting paramedics.

“We are using specialist cutting gear to remove the roof of the vehicle.”

The road was closed by police near the Cock and Swine pub, but Partington Lane remains open.
