Protest today in Manchester over 'terrifying' Legal Aid reform
By Tom Rodgers Lawyers will join campaigners today in a protest in Manchester calling for a stop to massive cuts and upheaval to the criminal legal aid system.Ministry of Justice (MoJ) plans include reducing the number of legal aid law firms in the UK from 1,600 to 400, as well as pushing for private companies with dodgy records like Atos, G4S and even a subsidiary of the haulage firm Eddie Stobart to join the legal sector.
