Police cordon off Weaste alleyway after burnt out motorbike found

Police cordoned off an alleway in Weaste, Salford, after discovering a motorbike ablaze.

Officers taped off the ginnel, which runs between Barff Road and Kennedy Road, at around 11.45pm last night, Monday 5 October.

Greater Manchester Police said the bike was too hot to put out and for fear it might explode, put up the cordon for the safety of local residents.

A police car was still stationed outside the alleyway this morning, Tuesday 6 October.

At around 11.20pm last night a 34-year-old man was shot three times in the chest and torso on Coniston Avenue in Little Hulton.
