Update – Winton shooting

A gunman fired shots at a house in Salford before fleeing on a motorbike.

At 7.50pm on Friday 3 April 2015, police were called to Sutherland Street following reports shots had been fired at the front door of a house.

It’s believed two men arrived at the house on a motorbike and one then fired a shotgun towards the door before riding off.

No one was inside at the time and no injuries have been reported.

Chief Inspector Julie Ellison, said: “This doesn’t appear to be an attempt to deliberately injure or harm someone and we are now trying to understand the reasons behind this incident.

“I would encourage anyone with information about those responsible or their motive to call us in complete confidence.”
